The Official Dukedom of Go Cong – Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam

The Duke of Go Cong Province is a noble sovereign ruling title once held by Duke Dang Khanh Tinh under the seated Grand Duke Pham Dang Hung who was the uncle of Emperor Tu Duc of the fourth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam who ruled from 1847 to 1883. The title fell into disuse and the natural/universal law of prescription (an international law) declares if a royal or noble status is not used for 100 years, it is forfeited or lost.

The title was restored in 2018 by a Vietnamese American named Kenny Tran (born in1988 as Tran Trong Kha in Song Be Province of Vietnam), who claims descent from the Duke through a nephew. Kenny Tran is a son of Captain Luong Tran of South Vietnam and a nephew-in-law of 2-Star General Le Quang Luong who was Commander of the U.S. Army/ARVN’s Airborne Special Forces during the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1975. He is a great grandson of the patriarch, the Venerable Dat, of Chua Linh Son (Linh Son Pagoda) located in Go Cong Province.

Duke Kenny was admitted to the royal court of Countess Palatine of House Burgundy, France.
